Anxiety therapy
Anxiety is a normal part of life, but some people experience it at higher levels than others. When you chronically experience high anxiety, therapy can help you understand where this anxiety is coming from as you can develop more skills to manage it.
Teagan regularly works with clients who are struggling with high anxiety. Many of them experience moderate to severe anxiety on a daily basis, and many of them have found that their symptoms have decreased after they have begun therapy.
Teagan’s Master’s thesis was based on research about anxiety treatments and she continues to specialize in this area of treatment. She uses theoretical orientations including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and EMDR to treat anxiety.
TRAUMA THERAPY
Trauma can be experienced after one extreme event or after a series of less intense, yet distressing events. For example, one person might be involved in a traumatic car accident and another person might experience chronic neglect from a family member, but both can experience trauma. Recent research has shown that trauma can be effectively treated and that clients can find healing and recovery after trauma.
EMDR is a proven method for trauma treatment, and talk therapies can also help people process through the events in their lives that caused them, physical, psychological, or emotional harm. Having the support of a therapist as you heal from trauma can be an essential part of your overall recovery.
Teagan treats trauma on a regular basis and actively works to empower clients as they find healing after facing difficult circumstances in their lives.
